Walking route along the Lek River and through historic Wijk bij Duurstede

This walking route combines the vastness of the river Lek with the charm of the old city center of Wijk bij Duurstede. You can start in the city and soon walk along atmospheric streets, the harbor and remnants of the medieval city walls. Then the route takes you along the water and through the green outlying area overlooking floodplains and orchards. Along the way you will experience the dynamics of the river, with shipping and beautiful views of the landscape. After the outdoor area, you return to the inner city, where cozy terraces and restaurants invite you for a break or conclusion.
